Galleria d’Arte Moderna, Milan acquires 'The Chimney Sweep' by Giuseppe Molteni

The Galleria d’Arte Moderna, Milan has acquired The Chimney Sweep (c. 1838)by Giuseppe Molteni for the museum collection. The painting exemplifies a popular subject in nineteenth-century Italy, which Molteni returned to on a number of occasions, beginning at the annual Brera exhibition in 1838.
